The Crew is a racing game set in a persistent open world environment for free-roaming across a scaled-down recreation of the contiguous United States. The map is split into five regions: The Midwest, East Coast, The South, Mountain States, and West Coast.
The Crew was my first game at Ubisoft, I joined the team as an expert Flash programmer. To allow the game to run smoothly. At that time the crew shipped with flash (Scaleform) in action script 2, which was not quite close to the AS3 performances.
During the live period, I did redo a lot in the GUI and have started a framework by creating some widget behaviors library for reusability purposes and improve performances.
At that time, we were a very small GUI team (1 prog & 1 art) to deliver new content for every title update we shipped until the expansion.
