Day One: Garry’s Incident is an FPS on PC. You play as a pilot who will experience a nightmare following a crash that sends him to a wild and old Amazon. You will have to survive in a merciless jungle, find food, make your own weapons, discover an ancient lost civilization and mysterious technologies left on earth centuries ago by an alien presence.
When I joined the “team” there were only me and the CEO. He asked me if I could “finish” the game that was at a prototype phase and was paused for many months.
As I love challenges, I did start to inspect and fix many missing aspects of the game like AI, Physics, Animation, Gameplay, UI, interactions.
As the only programmer on the project, I took care of almost everything for 4 months (the studio shuts down, again, after). So to me this project is more a game Jam marathon instead of a real finished game.
It was a very fun project to work on because I had to be very versatile and agile. Like doing your own game in your basement.
The sad part was the CEO that decided to ship it without finishing it.
